Welcome to A stitch and a stir. I am a full-time mom and household manager (a term coined by a dear college friend) with a passion for cooking, baking, sewing and everything arts-and-craftsy. In the pursuit to do my job in the best way I know how, I try to make a different dinner every night. We generally don’t have repeating dishes; if we do, it is about 1-2 months later. So I generally like to blog about dishes and meals that I make. But what’s life without good dark chocolate, desserts and pastries? I bake just as much as I cook and perhaps have more fun with baking much of the time since it strikes a chord with so many more people (most of us are less picky about our desserts).
I started sewing with my mom when I was a little girl. She was the queen of making outfits for me and my sister and also of making stellar-looking quilts and other small doo dads. Since that time with my mom, sewing has always been in the back burner, something I wished I had continued to pursue and about 2 years ago I decided that it was time to actually do something about that desire and asked for that to be one of my housewarming gifts. My wish came true and I got my own Kenmore sewing machine! Since then, I have been sewing more and diversifying my sewing repertoire. I also knit and crochet (though I like knitting better).
So, welcome to a stitch and a stir and thanks for reading and journeying with me in my pursuits.
